Explore the Florida Gulf Coast through its Golf Courses

September 9, 2019

Didn’t we just have the FedEx Cup Championship, marking the end of the PGA Tour season?
Don’t look now, but the 2019-2020 season gets under way Sept. 12 at The Greenbrier, and the new year promises to be more interesting than the last with the Olympic golf and the Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits, plusTiger Woods captaining the U.S. Presidents Cup team. Do you think he will pick himself?
But we will have to wait until April for the answer to the hottest question of the new golf season. Can Tiger repeat at the Masters and win his 16th major, leaving him just two behind Jack Nicklaus?
The fall season is starting nearly a month earlier, a by-product of the revamped PGA Tour schedule that now has the season-ending Tour Championship coming in August. In all, the PGA Tour has 49 tournaments scheduled and over $350 million in prize money.
In mentioning Nicklaus, area golfers should consider playing The
Golden Bear Club at Keene’s Pointe in Windemere, Florida on Sept. 16.
This is the latest and most attractive promotion of the popular Big Summer Card.
Big summer card holders and guests can play the individual stroke play tournaments for $62 plus tax.
There is a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
