Jan Stephenson made local news when she purchased Tarpon Woods Golf Club in Palm Harbor two years ago. She has been a fixture at the course while she works on renovating both the course and clubhouse. The native Australian now calls Tampa Bay home, but also travels the world to represent her wine and rum distillery ventures when she is not playing golf in LPGA Legends Tour events.
Stephenson’s contributions to the game of golf as well as her stellar career as a player will be highlighted when she is inducted into The World Golf Hall of Fame in mid-June. The ceremony coincides with the U.S. Open Championship in California at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
The Class of 2019 also includes the late Peggy Kirk Bell, Retief Goosen, Billy Payne and Dennis Walters.
