South Florida PGA Hosts 2020 Patty Berg Junior Championship

79 South Florida Juniors will compete to take home the Patty Berg Championship trophy July 24-26. The field is a combination of Championship, Challenge, and Southwest Florida Junior Golf Association Tour players ages 11- 18.  
The Patty Berg Championship is one of South Florida’s five Junior Majors, a  54-hole event run in conjunction with the Southwest Florida Junior Golf Association. This event is designed to bring a major atmosphere to junior golf in South Florida.  This year the event is hosted by Cypress Lake Golf Club for the tournament’s 28th year. Patty Berg, Gene Sarazen, and Hall of Fame Golf Writer, Herb Graffis, were founding members of Cypress Lake Golf Club, the second course to open in Lee County, a Dick Wilson original design at  6767 Winkler Rd, Fort Myers, FL 33919, that was completely restored in 2017.
PLAYERS TO WATCH: The boy’s division will be headlined by Lake Worth native, Tyler Stachkunas. Jordan Fischer of North Fort Myers will be one to watch for the girl’s division.

The SFPGA Junior Tour presented by The Honda Classic provides four levels of golf programming to youth ages 6-18 in South Florida with the aspirations and skill levels to compete at the High School and Collegiate level and features some of South Florida’s most talented junior golfers.
