South Florida PGA Professionals Dedicate Habitat for Humanity Home in Puerto Rico

The South Florida PGA Island Chapter PGA Professionals, in conjunction with the South Florida PGA Foundation have dedicated the Habitat for Humanity Home they refurbished to the deserving family of Luis Anthony Ortiz Lopez and Angelica Maria Ortiz Couvertier and their one-year-old son.

South Florida PGA Professionals completed their eighth Habitat for Humanity Home. The project, which was completed in the boundaries of the SFPGA Island Chapter in Puerto Rico, began in late October as PGA Professionals restored a house in Loiza, which was destroyed in the wake of Hurricane Maria. Since the partnership with Habitat for Humanity began, the SFPGA Foundation has built eight homes and plans to build a total of 15, one in each counties of the South Florida Section, which includes Puerto Rico.

In 2004 the South Florida PGA Foundation began operations as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded to support the South Florida community.  Since its inception, the Foundation has experienced extreme growth through the support of countless PGA Professionals, facilities, and numerous corporations.  Over the past thirteen years the Foundation has touched the lives of more than 12,000 individuals residing in South Florida, through various programming included but not limited to junior golf, charitable gifting, and scholarships.
