Tampa Bay Featured Golf Courses: New Updates

We hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy during these uncertain times due to the COVID-19 virus. We do not know when this will end, but golf courses are providing a safe haven for us who enjoy playing the game. We have compiled a list of featured courses in the Tampa Bay area that are still open, or are open to members only, or all operations at the course are closed until further notice and what health and safety precautions they are taking for both players and employees.

  • Ace Golf (Crescent Oaks, Pebble Creek, Plantation Palms, Wentworth Golf Clubs)
    • Crescent Oaks Golf Club in Tarpon Springs
      • All golf facilities, including driving range, are open.
      • Normal hours of operation: 7 a.m.-8 p.m./7 days
      • Oak Tree Bar & Grill is open and is take-out only with modified hours and the full menu is available for food and sealed alcoholic beverages:
        • Sun-Wed: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
        • Thurs-Sat: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
        • Delivery is available through Grubhub
      • 1 person, 1 cart rule
      • Players are allowed to walk, but they must call ahead of time to check on availability.
      • Carts will be disinfected after each round, with special attention to all touch points.
      • Beverage Cart will be operating, their hours have been expanded and drivers will have hand sanitizer and gloves on.
      • Players are encouraged to bring their own water bottles, or they can purchase them for $1 at the golf club.
      • Only 4 people will be allowed in the pro shop at a time and there is tape on the floor place 6 feet apart.
      • Groups 10 or more are not allowed.
      • Stations at the driving range have been placed at least 6 feet apart and the putting green pin flags have ben taken away and the range baskets are disinfected after every use.
      • There will be no booking fees when booking a tee time and they ask players to use credit/debit cards, employees will be wearing gloves.
      • They will be following all CDC guidelines and will be following a rigorous cleaning schedule.
      • All staff members will be washing their hands more often.
      • Touch points, such as table tops, cash registers, steering wheels on golf carts, and door handles, will be disinfected more often.
      • Bunker rates, water coolers, ball washers and towels have been taken away.
      • Flagsticks must not be touched and when a ball is inside of 5 feet, it is accepted.
      • Hole cups have been placed upside down, so the golf ball can be removed without touching the flagstick.
      • Players are encouraged to bring their own wipes or sanitizers.
      • They ask that if anyone has any type of cold or flu-like symptoms or have had any contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, to please stay home.
      • They will be monitoring all announcements from the CDC and WHO for any updates.
    • Pebble Creek Golf Club in Tampa
      • All golf facilities, including driving range, are open.
      • Normal hours of operation: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
      • Mulligans Irish Pub is open for take-out only with modified hours and the full menu is available for food and sealed alcoholic beverages:
        • Mon: Closed
        • Tues., Thurs., Sat., and Sun.: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
        • Wed. and Fri.: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
        • Delivery is available through GrubhubCall, Uber Eats, and Mobile Meals
      • Beverage Cart is operating 7 days a week
        • 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
      • They will be following all CDC guidelines and the same rules listed for all Ace Golf facilities.
      • They will be following the Hillsborough County’s “Safer-at-Home Order,” as they are located in Tampa.
    • Plantation Palms Golf Club in Land O Lakes
      • All golf facilities, including driving range and miniature golf course, are open.
      • Golf lessons are still available for players.
      • Normal hours of operation: 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
      • Mulligans Irish Pub is open for take-out only with modified hours and has a to-go menu available for food and sealed alcoholic beverages:
        • 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. everyday
        • Delivery is available through Uber Eats.
      • Walking is available for all players during the week and after 11 a.m. on the weekends, but they must call the Pro Shop
      • They will be following all CDC guidelines and the same rules listed for all Ace Golf facilities.
    • Wentworth Golf Club in Tarpon Springs
      • All golf facilities, including driving range, is open.
      • Normal hours of operation: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
      • Mulligans Irish Pub is open for take-out with a limited menu and does include sealed alcoholic beverages
        • Mon.- closed
        • Tues. – Sat.- 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
        • Sun. – 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
      • Players can make their tee times online.
      • Golf lessons will still be offered. They will be following all CDC guidelines and the same rules at all Ace Golf facilities.
  • Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Course in Clearwater
    • Youth Foundation hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • They will be following the National Golf Course Owners Association “Park and Play Program,” to go along with the CDC guidelines, as well as social distancing.
    • Tee times are further apart and ball washers will be taken off the course, as well as all of the rakes.
    • Golf carts will be disinfected after every use.
    • 1 cart, 1 person rule, exception of immediate family members.
    • Avoid the pin, all cups have been raised.
    • Guests need to abide by the 6-foot social distance rule and only a certain amount of guests can go in the pro shop to check-in.
    • Driving range-open.
    • Buckets and golf balls will be disinfected after every use.

  • East Bay Golf Club in Largo:
    • Tee times available from: 7 a.m. -3:30 p.m.
    • Strict social distancing rules applying
    • CDC guidelines in place
      • Don’t touch the flags
      • Keep a 6-foot distance from other golfers at all times
      • No rakes in the bunkers
      • Sanitizing all golf carts prior to use by golfers
      • Foam in cups
      • No more than 4 players in pro shop check in at a time
      • Mandatory one golfer per cart-No exceptions!
    • Current rates: $35 per player w/ cart
    • Online tee time booking
  • Heritage Isles Golf & Country Club in Tampa Bay
    • Open for normal operating hours from 7 a.m. -6 p.m.
    • They will be cleaning the golf carts with bleach.
    • Avoid the pins on the greens.
    • The pro shop has been closed, but there is a tent placed outside where players can check-in and pay.
    • Each cart will be disinfected after every use.
    • Ball washers will be shut tightly with shrink-wrap.
    • A PVC pipe has been placed at the bottom of the flagsticks so a ball will lean into it, but not go in.

  • Mainlands Golf Club in Pinellas Park
    • Pro shop hours: 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
    • A ‘PARK and PLAY’ program has been put into effect, so there is limited interaction between players.
    • Demo clubs and/or rental clubs are not available for the time being.
    • Tee times will be 10 minutes apart.
    • If a player would like to make a tee time, they may either book it online by credit card, or call the shop. If paying in the shop, they ask that one player comes in the pay, so as to lessen the time spent in the shop.
    • Only one tee time is allowed in the shop at a time, up to four players.
    • Pencils and scorecards can be used if asked for.
    • “CUP UP” golf will be place during play, which means that all cups have been raised an inch above the pin and when the ball hits the cup, that means the ball is “in.”
    • All golf carts will be thoroughly cleaned after each use and each night.
    • 1 person, 1 cart rule.
    • Groups no more than four are allowed on the course and all leagues and larger groups will not be allowed. They ask that no players congregate in or around the pro shop.
    • Coolers will not be allowed to take onto the course and water coolers have been taken off the course.
    • Food and beverages are now for to-go orders only, to be eaten out on the course while playing. Hot dogs and sandwiches will not be sold.
    • Please call the shop to order for the snack bar and it will be prepared ahead of time.
    • Please use the Port-Potties at your own risk, as they do not have any sanitizer in them and are not cleaned on a regular schedule.
  • Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey in the Hills
    • Golf courses are still operating, but with extra health precautions.
    • They are following all CDC and W.H.O. guidelines.
    • Golf carts will be offered individually at no additional cost, if available, if a golfer does not feel comfortable riding with another player. 
    • No shotgun starts, so as to lessen large gatherings
    • Practice pins will be removed from the practice greens.
    • Now through April 30th, golf rates are $55 + tax on their El Campeon course and $45 + tax on their Gary Koch designed Las Colinas course.
    • Avoid the pins on the holes
  • Pinecrest Golf Club in Largo
    • Hours of operation: 7 a.m.- 4 p.m., no golfers after 4 p.m.
    • Abiding by the CDC guidelines, only one person per cart is being activated.
    • Golf carts will be disinfected before each use
    • Avoid touching the flag pins at any time.
    • Rakes have been removed.
    • Only 4 players in the pro shop at a time.
    • From 3/26-4/12 for 18 holes:
      • $18 walk
      • $25 ride
      • For 9 holes: $12 walk and $18 ride
  • Seminole Lake Country Club in Seminole
    • Golf and tennis facilities will be open from 7 a.m.- 6 p.m.
    • Extra safety precautions have been taken in order to ensure a safe and healthy atmosphere while following rules set by the Department of Health.
    • Touch points on a cart will be disinfected before use. Guests will be allowed to walk if they wish to do so, an option that has only been for the members.
    • The locker rooms, high-touch objects, and bathrooms are being cleaned on a more meticulous schedule.
    • They ask that if any employees, guests, or members have travelled to places that have been confirmed as high-risk by the U.S. State Department, please follow the CDC instructions when it comes to social distancing.
    • Several member events have been postponed until further notice.
    • Food and drinks will be takeout only and brought to your car.
    • Hot food-from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. daily.
    • Limited food-between 3 p.m.-7 p.m., no breakfast service.
  • Streamsong Resort in Streamsong
    • Streamsong Red and Blue are currently closed, due to renovations for new greens.
    • The Black Course is open Thursdays through Sundays, but is closed Mondays-Wednesdays.
    • They will still allow golf carts during any time of the day, effective on March 23rd.
    • Do not touch the flagsticks.
    • They ask that all players to smooth the bunkers with their feet, so as to not touch the rakes.
    • Players may give putts to prevent putting their hands in the cups.
    • If taking a cart, group caddies are mandated instead of walking carrying caddies.
    • Players have the option of a single rider cart if they are paired with player(s) not in their group, so as to follow the social distancing guidelines.

  • Summerfields Crossing Golf Club in Riverview
    • Normal operating hours: 7 a.m.-5 p.m.
    • Book and prepay tee times online. Credit/debit cards only in person and members can charge to their in house account if they have a card on file.
    • 6 foot distance rule
    • Clubhouse is closed and check-in will occur just after the pro shop door. Bathrooms on the course can be used.
    • 1 person 1 cart rule, unless with an immediate family member.
    • They have pull carts for rent if anyone would prefer to walk.
    • Avoid the flagsticks
    • Rakes and sand buckets are gone.
    • No large gatherings around the clubhouse for the health and safety for those around them and to follow all rules and instructions.
    • Players must bring their own water, or purchase for $1 at the club.
  • Tarpon Woods Golf Club in Palm Harbor
    • Normal operating hours: 6:45 a.m. – 6 p.m.
    • A “no touch system” has been put into effect.
    • All rakes have been removed from the bunkers, as well as the ball washers and water coolers.
    • The cups have been lifted out of the ground by 1-½ inches and if the ball hits the cup, which will be counted as going in.
    • The grounds crew will repair the divots, as the sand has been removed from all carts.
    • Touch points, such as door handles and bathroom facets and surfaces, will be sanitized and all surfaces in the pro shop and on the golf course will be sanitized.
    • They ask to abide by all social distancing guidelines in the shop and on the course and common areas.
    • The Patriot’s Bar & Grill is open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. with a limited menu for to-go orders only.
    • Effective on April 1st, any child 14 years or under can play for free when playing with a parent or grandparent after 1 p.m.
  • The Eagles Golf Club in Odessa
    • Adjusted hours, includes pro shop and course: 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
    • CDC guidelines in place
    • No seating in the clubhouse, restaurant, until further notice effective on March 20th w/ adjusted hours of operation
    • Limited take out menu, including sealed alcoholic beverages is available for take out for the time being, call to place an order (813) 920-6681

  • Westchase Golf Club in Tampa
    • Hours of golf shop operation: 6:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
    • Clubhouse will be closed
    • Every player is expected to participate in a COVID-19 health screening before playing.
    • 6-foot rule in place
    • There will be measured tape marks during check in and will only accept credit/debit cards.
    • Hand sanitizers have been put at the entrance
    • 1 person 1 cart rule and all carts are being disinfected before and after use.
    • Tee times-17 minutes apart
    • Cups at each hole will be 1 inch over the ground to avoid touching the flags.
    • The Two Spoons restaurant will offer to go orders
  • World Woods Golf Club in Brooksville
    • Operating hours:
    • Both courses are open for play.
    • Food and drinks are available for take-out only.
    • Golf carts will be cleaned and disinfected with bleach before and after every use.
    • 1 person, 1 cart rule.
    • Pool noodles have been placed in the cup, so as to avoid touching the flagstick.
    • They ask that players avoid using the rakes and to lift, clean, and place.
    • They still have their discount Woods Card on sale, with two options: one year and three year until they are sold out. *Florida residents only and a Florida driver’s license is required for purchase.
      • One Year: $149 plus tax
      • Three Year: $375 plus tax

Members Only:

  • Fox Hollow Golf Club in Trinity
    • As of March 29th, the golf course, practice facility, and driving range will be members only, except for the Grille Restaurant.
    • Restaurant will be open for take-out from 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. and will offer family dinner specials for pick up.
