Explore the Florida Gulf Coast through its Golf Courses

THE GROVES AT THE MEADOWS GRAND REOPENING WAS NOV. 16

There are a number of reasons why I like the the 18-hole Groves course at the The Meadows Country Club in Sarasota, Florida .
Although it is only 4,211 yards from the longest tees for a par of 65, the course rating is 61.2 and it has a slope rating of 105 on Bermuda grass.
It is short but difficult. Water comes into play on 17 of the 18 holes.
Plus, it is a perfect course for walkers.
Long hitters beware. You can hit it too far on this course and many times an 18-handicapper is able to hang with a single-digit golfer.

The Arthur Hills designed course opened in  1987. Billy Casper Golf manages this facility, with Andrew Kingsley as the General Manager.
After a major renovation, the course reopened Saturday, Nov. 16 with many features of the original designed restored.
Check it out. It is unlike any other area course.
