23rd Annual Pro-Am sets new fundraising mark for charity
Golf fundraisers are no easy task, but The Meadows Country Club seems to be the leader in the clubhouse when it comes to producing dollars for charity.
Once again, The Meadows Country Club was very impressive by raising over $120,000 for 1,300 families through its Meadows Cup Pro-Am Golf Tournament to benefit Easter Seals Southwest Florida.
Over 200 golfers competed, and more than 50 sponsors pledged support for Easter Seals at the 23rd Annual Meadows Cup Pro Am Golf Tournament. Easter Seals Southwest Florida offers the highest quality of care and services to children, youth and adults with special needs. For 70 years, Easter Seals has provided the community with increased access, opportunities and life choices.
“We are so grateful for the continued support from The Meadows Country Club for this important cause,” says Tom Waters, director of Easter Seals Southwest Florida. “This effort not only helps those in need but also brings our community closer together.”
The $120,000 raised set a financial record for the 5-player team scramble event. Players of all skill levels could sign up for $400 or choose one of the various sponsorship options. The Meadows Cup is one of the longest running charitable golf tournaments in Sarasota County and has raised over $1,100,000 for Easter Seals Southwest Florida since 1996.
Meadows General Manager, Andrew Kingsley added, “The Meadows Country Club is proud of our relationship with Easter Seals and thrilled to be able to contribute to so many families throughout Sarasota.”
Redesigned in 2004 by Ron Garl, The Meadows Country Club has been managed by Billy Casper Signature Club Management since 2016. Billy Casper Signature facilitates each operation at the club and helps serve the community by creating outstanding experiences for members in golf, tennis, dining, aquatics and junior programs.
“Billy Casper Signature is proud to be apart of the wonderful cause The Meadows Country Club helped grow with Easter Seals,” says Matt Wilson, director of private clubs. “Both Meadows and Easter Seals have created a culture of selflessness and care while always having fun and we look forward to helping continue the efforts for years to come.”

About Easter Seals Southwest Florida
Easter Seals Southwest Florida began in 1946 as the Sarasota-Manatee Crippled Children’s Clinic, and was renamed Happiness House later that year. From borrowed space in an empty WWII army barracks, the organization served local children impacted by the polio epidemic then sweeping the country, providing medical rehabilitation and education, patient therapy and counseling, and support services for persons with disabilities.
Now, Easter Seals offers the highest quality of care and services to children, youth and adults with special needs so that they can enjoy access, opportunities and increased life choices. Easter Seals is committed to remaining a leader in special needs services – an organization to which individuals and their families can turn to for resources and support with a continuum of care throughout their lives.
