U.S. SOLHEIM CUP HOPES REST ON KORDA SISTERS

It appears the U.S. Solheim Cup team is relying on two Bradenton sisters: Nelly and Jessica Korda.

They are ranked Nos. 1 and 3 in the current Solheim Cup standings.

Team Europe defeated Team USA 14 1/2 to 13 1/2 in the 2019 Solheim Cup at The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland. Suzann Pettersen, who had played in just three LPGA Tour events following an 18-month maternity leave, made a 7-foot putt on the 18th hole to secure the victory for Team Europe.

This year’s event will be played Aug. 31-Sept. 6 at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. The will play 6,434, yards for the competition.

The United States holds a 10-6 advantage in Solheim Cup competition.
